What does your 2011 hold?

Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays!

Now’s a great time to reflect on all of the amazing things in the world (like the Aurora Borealis…) and all of the important people in your world.

It’s also a great time to think about 2011 and what that might bring…so with that in mind, here’s a great article on 11 trends for small business in 2011.

A couple of the highlights for me:

#1 – Demand will increase.  “With a now growing economy, a stable stock market, and “less bad” nightly news, this is the year your sales increase.”  If you think about how long things have been down, it is about time to start seeing an uptick…I think it will be slow and measured, but there’s every reason to believe that 2011 is when things start improving.

#8 – Customer Service is the new marketing.  “Raving fans can now be your biggest source of new business, as they will tell everyone how great your company is.”  The best thing you can focus on is delivering an excellent product / service and an excellent experience!  If you do that, most other things will take care of themselves.

#10 – Increasing pressure from Anywhen.  “To keep your sanity, look for places and times in 2011 that are work free zones and an oasis from anywhen.”  Having the ability to be always available and connected to the internet has a tangible impact and downside.  If you don’t manage your time, you will be overwhelmed and lose effectiveness!

What ever happens next year, it’s going to be interesting!  It does look like there are good reasons to hope for bigger and better things.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on 2011 trends – leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Best wishes and a Happy New Year!
