Dear

Welcome

practical
ways to
improve
themselves
and
their
business.
Don't
forget
to add
me to
your
safe

you can
see this
newsletter
properly
formatted.
Take a
look
around,
visit me
on my
website
and blog,
give me
a call,
give me
feedback
and
share
with any
friends
that you
think
might be
interested.
Have a
great
day!

Are you
competing on
Price? |
|
Competition
Killers
Unfortunately
most
small
businesses
find it
very
difficult
to
differentiate
themselves
in a way
that's
obvious
from the
consumer's
point of
view and
they're
left to
compete
(primarily)
on
Price.
I
thought
about
this
because
I saw an
interesting
article
on
Costco (NYTimes
- Costco)
that I
found on
the 37
Signals
Blog (37
Signals
on
Costco).
Although
I'm not
a
customer
at
Costco,
I did
shop at
their
primary
competition,
Sam's
Club,
this
weekend
and the
first
thing I
think of
when I
think of
the
category
is...low
price.
Well
that and
really
large
jars of
mayonnaise
and
cereal
boxes
that
won't
fit in
our car.
...

What are
your REAL
goals? |
|
A
new way to
look at
setting
goals
I did a
great
goal
exercise
the
other
day with
one of
my
networking
groups.
This is
one of
those
things
that can
help you
shake up
your
perceptions
and
might
help you
see
things a
little
more
clearly.
If you
want to
play
along at
home,
take a
piece of
paper
and draw
out 5
boxes
(draw
them big
enough
to cover
the
whole
page so
you'll
have
some
room to
write).
You
won't
likely
get the
point of
the
exercise
without
playing
along...but
it's
your
call.
In
box #1,
...More.

IStockphoto.com
They

Even

Music:
Great Big
Sea -
Something
Beautiful
When
you're a
Canadian
Folk
Rock
band out
of
Newfoundland
it's
easy to
be
overlooked.
Which is
a shame,
because
their
music is
a lot of
fun to
listen
to.
It's
mostly
upbeat
with
lots of
harmonies
and
unconventional/traditional
instruments.
I'll
admit
that I
really
like the
traditional
folk
songs,
but a
lot of
people
will
prefer
their
original
folk
rock
songs
instead.
Something
Beautiful
is
probably
the most
'mainstream'
album -
highly
recommended!
