Dear Shawn,

Welcome to the latest edition of the Aspirations Newsletter - Thanks for reading and feel free to share with others.
"When someone is impatient and says, "I haven't got all day," I always wonder, How can that be? How can you not have all day? "   - George Carlin
We'll miss George Carlin - in the quote above, he was absolutely right, you do have all day but unfortunately for most of us it doesn't feel like enough time.  I don't have all the answers but the first article below will give you at least 10 ideas that can help you be more productive - check it out!

Come and check out a BANG! meeting!
You may have heard me talking about BANG! over the last few months.  It's a peer group advisory board service for small business owners and I'm hosting a Visitors Day on July 16th at 8:30 - 9:30 if anyone would like to come and check out how these groups work.

Since space is limited, I can only take the first 5 people that respond, so reply to this email and let me know you're interested (or you know someone that might be interested).

I help small business owners that are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or just not sure what their next step should be to grow their business.  If you know of someone that fits the bill, I would love to meet them - I'll even buy the coffee!!!

Have a great day and I hope to talk to you soon!

10 Ways to Get More Done...
Can you squeeze more time into your day?

Worn Out!
Do you ever feel like there's not enough time in the day to get everything done?

Sometimes you just feel flat out tired.

As a small business owner, you've got it worse than most.  You're wearing a bunch of hats, a lot of times you're covering new ground and ultimately the buck stops with you (to paraphrase President Truman).

There are a lot of strategic ways to do things more effectively, but sometimes it just boils down to what you can personally get done in a day...!

Can you bridge the gap to persuade readers?
A sales copy writing technique that's easy to use
 Bridge the Gap
Do you ever have to write to potential prospects, whether it's an email, a brochure, a website or a blog?  Then you know it can be challenging to come up with a way to 'sell' your idea and get a response.

What if you had a simple formula that was easy to understand, follow and proven to work?  What if you could draw in more business just by writing better?

But you're not a copy writer - actually you don't even like marketing or sales very much, you generally struggle just to get something on paper that covers the key points.  Maybe there's still hope...

Never Eat AloneNever Eat Alone - Keith Ferrazzi

There are a lot of business books out there, but I haven't found very many that deal with the importance of being a connector if you want to pursue success.

Although the author doesn't exactly have a common background (he went to both Yale and Harvard Business School), he does make a lot of great points that can apply to anyone that wants to understand the intangible side of success.  You can't make it alone - the more you can honestly connect and help others, the better off you'll be (it's not as karmic and zen as it sounds...).  It's a good book - check it out.

Kansas City Zoo Kansas City Zoo

The Kansas City Zoo has had a rough go of it for quite a while and they're still fighting battles for funding, but you can really start to see some significant changes occurring that will make our Zoo one that can contend with the great zoos in St. Louis, Denver and Omaha.

However, the Zoo is missing out on some marketing opportunities and they still have a lot to fix - help me get the word out that people need to visit the updated zoo (and the zoo needs to try some new things out...).
